The LightGenie™ provides a delay turn off of all lights, Head, Tail and Dome, which means no more jump-starting after forgetting to turn off your lights. About the size of a pack of cigarettes, the LightGenie™ can be installed without wire cutting, wire splicing, or hole drilling. Instead, the unit is first secured by a preselected bolt already on the chassis of the vehicle; it is then connected by removing specified fuses and/or relays from the underhood or instrumentation panel fusebox and plugging it into the vacant slots. The light sensor is then fastened in a non-critical manner in a gap of the auto body. Because of this unique method of installation, retail customers can install it themselves, an auto sales representative can sell it as a factory-certified option, and automobile manufacturers can incorporate it into production easily. It protects the vehicles circuits by monitoring them several thousand times a second; if it finds an overvoltage or overcurrent, it disconnects them immediately.
