Over six years of countless refinements, numerous successes on new cars, lengthy and brutal endurance tests, the LightGenie is now ready to serve. Everyone in the industry is invited to quit making expensive, sporadic, small increments of progress in old technologies and start to profit immediately from the low-cost, best and total solution to all the vexingly intertwined problems of automotive lighting. The LightGenie offers completely all the most desirable features to the OEMs and end users; with absolutely no compromises like others; yet installation by OEM takes less than one minute.
The patented, foolproof LightGenie now offers faithfully to eradicate for drivers of cars of any price, some or all of the unforgettable experiences which can be traumatic, embarrassing, dangerous, time-consuming, costly, or irritating, such as:
- Driving unconsciously in the dark evening or when it rains without head and tail lights on;
- Running the battery down by head and/or tail lights left on after driving or manual turn-on;
- Running the battery down by leaving a dome light on, a door ajar, or a trunk open too long;
- Driving in the season and region of the country during the day with no headlights on, when they would be beneficial for everybody's safety, for fear of forgetting to turn them off later;
- Feeling unsafe driving a compact-size car in a sea of huge vehicles, many with DRLs on during daytime, and grudgingly having to turn all exterior lights on, knowing full well that the life time of those lights will be shortened prematurely;
- Being bothered, in some seasons, by the glare of the Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) of other cars, and wishing not to cause the same bother to other drivers, only to find out there is no way to disable the DRLs in a semipermanent manner;
- Fumbling in the dark to reach for the main light switch of a parked car to turn on the head and tail lights in order to deal better with a potentially dangerous situation, only to see that absolutely no lights are on, or just the tail lights are on;
- Receiving back from a parking valet or a friend, in the evening, a car which has an automatic lighting system, only to find a battery run-down in the morning, because the main lights switch was thought to be in the AUTO position when parked, while it actually was manually turned on before;
- Wanting to dash through a rowdy crowd in a perceived dangerous zone with absolutely no lights in order to be as inconspicuous as possible, only to find out that the head lights refuse to go off when it is manually turned off;
- Desperately wanting to shut all lights off as soon as turning the ignition key to STOP, only to see head and tail lights stay on for at least a few seconds, even in the minimum delayed turn-off;
- Wishing to have at least the headlights on for a good half-minute for a safe walk from the parked car to a living quarter, but no means is there;
- Being unhappily desensitized to the trouble of other drivers who seem to inadvertently leave their car headlights on after parking, just because of having no way of telling whether a car has the lights left on for automatic delayed turn-off or not, and fearing to be an unwelcome helper;
- Driving in a part of the country where fog lights in the evening are needed and wishing to have a system to turn them on along with low-beam headlights and the tail lights, or just with the tail lights alone for another kind of improved visibility; and to turn off automatically these fog lights during daytime or after driving is done;
- Needing occasionally to turn on the Parking lights for 4 hours then off automatically (to save the battery for restarting), but no means is there;
- Wishing to have any automatic lighting system to report dutifully when it is in good health or when the circuits under its control or itself are at fault, so that, at least, every time parking the car at night with delayed turn-off, one can be sure that the system is going to turn off the lights definitely;
- Having a nagging feeling of having paid dearly for a usable system of automatic lighting, only to run into the nasty task of repairing just its light sensor and waste a whole day's work and several hundred dollars, when the fault happens just after the usual 3 or 4 years of warranty period.
A brief overview of the merits of the LightGenie in serving the drivers in the best way can be glanced over on the accompanying LightGenie List for Aftermarket and LightGenie List for OEMs. These merits can be scrutinized easily in great details in the brochure. The followings are some more highlights of those merits:
- Allow the Canadian drivers to have all the legal lights, evening and Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), to be absolutely automatic, so no one would drive unsafely in the evening with just the front lights on in relatively low luminous intensity, (good only for the DRLs mode).
- Allow the US drivers to have all the lights to be vigilantly turned on and off in the most desirable manner automatically, day or night, yet to turn off or on any time they need to be, instantly, during driving or parking, at the discretion of the drivers. Delayed turn-off or not can be preselected in 5 seconds or instantly chosen in a fraction of a second with the main light switch, on a one-time basis, before or after shutting off the engine.
- Allow the US drivers to own the best DRLs system, modulated to the latest NHTSA-proposed luminous intensity, very effective, but to cause no glare to the surrounding traffic. Better yet, if these drivers do not like to have DRLs for any reason, these DRLs can be deactivated instantly in 5 seconds with just the main light switch, in a semipermanent manner. When the DRLs are wanted, they can be reactivated instantly until the opposite option is desired. This is the very first personalized DRLs system that guaranties to always give the customers a sense of safety and not to irritate or distract anybody in any situation. A distracted driver is an unsafe driver!
To present incentives for the OEMs to participate in making a fair profit on the LightGenie with us, the LightGenie was developed expressly to help the OEMs to maximize their profits, not only on the LightGenie itself, but also on the global products of their specialties. Here is a summary of what the LightGenie can do for OEMs:
- Reduce the wiring architecture (and cost) of every platform to the most basic scheme as found on cars with no DRLs and dome light protection now. As suggested in details in the brochure, all vehicles for Canadian regulations can be converted in a few minutes into vehicles for US or other regulations, and vice versa, with the adoption of the LightGenie. This scenario can be a powerful and profitable management tool in shifting around quickly any regional excess inventory to where higher demand may be, without any significant cost of adding or subtracting contents. The LightGenie cooperates smartly with present body control modules to provide all wanted delayed turn-offs or manual head and tail lights turn-ons, where they were suppressed as compromised solutions in some original systems.
- Offer to the OEMs' customers the best price and the best warranty on the LightGenie. At OEM's choice, the warranty shall replace any LightGenie going defective by itself, limited to the lifetime of the vehicle on which it is attached or up to 10 years, whichever comes first. This warranty, coupled with retrievable fault reports provided by the LightGenie, plus its less-than-one-minute installation and de-installation, will reduce the service instruction for the Head, Tail, and Dome lights. It will simplify the work of the assembly and service personnel tremendously, and will earn for the OEMs the appreciations, accolades, loyalty, and repeat business of their customers.
- Expand the customer base for the automobile companies in the US and countries other than Canada, by providing the buying customers with the individual selection of a single-most useful option which does not have to be pre-assembled at the factory or included in a several-thousand-dollar optional package that may not be desirable to the limited-budget customers. Once the marketing and sales people at the automobile companies are fully informed about the value of the LightGenie, they surely would agree that the LightGenie will guaranty to satisfy the largest group of customers. Beyond the traditional base of customers, this group will include further those who don't want to be bothered to remember to turn on and off the lights in the evening but despise the inflexible DRLs available now on some vehicles; those who believe strongly in the safety merits of the DRLs but cannot find them on any model they want to buy, at any cost; and, especially, those who are busy making a living and driving an expensive car (needed for business) or just a transportation means, and have been maimed emotionally and financially at the wrong time, just because of forgetting to turn off the car map light, after using it the night before.
For the evaluation of the real merits of the Universal LightGenie, the following should be shared with the purchasing, marketing and sales people to get their reaction: For the low cost of the floor mats of a new car, (even floor mats cost less, coming from us), a LightGenie can be instantly installed in any vehicle in the near future from a Rolls-Royce, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Jaguar, Lexus, Infinity, Continental, Cadillac, Acura, Audi, or Volvo, priced at over $30,000 to a lower-than-8,000-dollar Rio to render the lighting system of every one of them to be totally (including the DRLs, Head, Tail, Dome, Parking, Fog lights, Head-and-Tail-lights-on when windshield wiper is on, or flashing when a burglary takes place) and absolutely automatic (as detailed in the brochure). The LightGenie guaranties to serve the drivers more thoroughly and to have higher class than the most expensive systems now factory-installable only in all Cadillacs and some Lexus models. Suddenly, with the availability of the LightGenie, for very low cost, all car manufacturers may instantly provide their customers with a deluxe cachet, a truly beneficial system of safety tailored according to customers' immediate needs and day-to-day absolute security of mind.
People in all divisions of many automobile manufacturers can count on a great number of their platforms to be immediately ready for the LightGenie for new-car markets (please see LightGenie List for OEMs). All these models require very simple wiring change, insignificant in cost and time. The simple wiring change in these models empowers the LightGenie to be able, like magic, to turn on and off the Head and Tail lights in any combination, in all positions of the main light switch: OFF, PARK, or HEAD. Thus, it will be able to certify these models as fully compliant with the DRLs regulations of Canada, the US and other countries, as applied to new vehicles. The complicated extra wiring and control modules that were necessary before for the DRLs, as well as other less-than-totally-automatic light control (including the Battery Saver or Generic Electronic Module, if used to protect only the dome lights), can be gracefully retired to save a lot for the automobile manufacturers; all their services are covered in a better way by the LightGenie. Now everyone in the decision making, engineering, marketing and sales of the automobile manufacturers can see that their companies are in the race to win the bragging rights of being the very first to offer to their customers a revolutionary automotive lighting option of the highest performance; at an extraordinarily low price; with a limited warranty extended to the lifetime of the vehicle; providing the total solution to all vexing problems in lighting; on all of their models; with absolutely no hidden cost, including the cost of their customers' time waiting for the installation to be done. It is possible that they would arrive at the consensus that these bragging rights may pull in more customers to the new car show rooms; and may even increase sales.
For the manufacturers who are interested, we can quickly arrange a demonstration at their US office. This demonstration at the conference room and at the parking site of a '01/'02 model, will help different decision-making groups to seize the reality that one of the company's vehicles equipped with a LightGenie makes anything equivalently offered now by the company or any other manufacturer, look inadequate, less versatile, or uncool, electrically speaking. We have pre-production LightGenies that instantly fit actual '01/'02 vehicles to demonstrate clearly how the LightGenie will make the same vehicle instantly compliant with the Canadian, US or other countries' regulations by setting on or off two external switches and plugging in the LightGenie again. The states of these switches simulate the changes of hardware buried inside the epoxy potting of the production LightGenies for each market at a later time. Any in-depth technical details can be explored and acceptance tests could also be arranged quickly in a clear and beneficial manner for the manufacturers at these demonstrations or those overseas, at the OEM headquarters.
